New Year, New Opendoor?

Happy New Year Datadoor...

Crazily enough, Datadoor will turn 3 in 2025. It’s been a weird road for Sebastian and I, weirder for residential real estate, and weirder still for Opendoor.

We haven’t had a normal housing market since Opendoor went public in December, 2020. Despite three rate cuts in 2024 the 30-year mortgage rate sits stubbornly above 7%. Home sales remain violently depressed.

And as for Opendoor?
